The Bearcat 980 has a lot features that CB'ers have been wanting for a long time. The first, of course, is sideband. Uniden hasn't had a CB radio with sideband in a long time. The Bearcat 980 utitlizes the upper and lower sideband to give you more channels at higher power, 12 watts to be precise. Normal CB frequencies are allowed only 4 watts of power by FCC regulations.
Other notable features include a 7 color changing display to match your vehicle's colors. A huge LCD screen that gives you good information including frequency, channel, power, etc.
